Cyndi was kind enough to answer some questions I threw at her *What? I didn't throw em hard or anything*

SG: Give us a description of your book but as a Tweet *those are short*

CT: Between is a YA paranormal romance about a girl who dies in an accident & the 18th century Scotsman who comes to take her to heaven. (I even typed that into Twitter to make sure it would fit the character limit- LOL)

SG: What motivated you to start writing? Something you've always wanted to do?

CT: I used to write (really bad) poetry in high school about This Guy or That Guy who didn’t know I was alive. Writing was a way to exorcise the demons of self-doubt and insecurities that would have otherwise eaten me whole. It was a way to scream out loud on paper the words I’d never let slip past my lips.

But it wasn’t until I became an adult that I decided to try my hand at writing a novel. I was watching a video interview of Stephenie Meyer and thought she sounded like a pretty normal person. I figured if she could do it, why couldn’t I? I know, delusions of grandeur have always been my downfall. LOL Still, that was the catalyst that made me sit down and start writing!

SG: Do you write with music or do you need quiet?

CT: I listen to classical piano or instrumental Scottish folk music while I write. My favorites are Brian Crain (piano) and Alasdair Fraser (folk).

SG: What is the one place in the world you would like to visit *that you haven't already*?

CT: London, baby! My hubby and I have been saving up for a trip to the UK, so we’re going to London, Bath, York, Ediburgh and Orkney in May 2012. I am SOOO excited! Those beautiful accents, all swirling around me… *swoon*

SG: Who are some of your favorite authors?

CT: Diana Gabaldon is my favorite author. Jamie Fraser from her Outlander series was the inspiration for Aiden MacRae in Between. Other fave authors include Jeri Smith-Ready (Shade series), Richelle Mead (Vampire Academy series), Karen Marie Moning (Fever series) and Jeaniene Frost (Night Huntress series). I’ve got to give a shout out to Tammara Webber, whose book Between the Lines is amazing as well!

This or That....
Tennis Shoes or Heels?

Oh, tennis shoes all the way. I don’t think I even own a pair of heels.
Eat out or Homecookin?
My husband is an extraordinary cook (I call him Chef Tefft) so I’d have to go with homecookin’ on this one. He makes a mean Taties n Eggs, which is a meal mentioned in Between. Fans were curious about it, so he put together the recipe for them!

E-book or Printed book?
While I like both, I prefer paperbacks. They never run out of batteries! I have a Nook Color, which is fabulous (I love being able to touch a word on the screen and have it pop up the definition). Still, there’s just something about holding the book in your hands that can’t be beat.

Sports car or Sedan?

I’ll go with sedan, even though it sounds like way less fun. I have two kiddos and hauling around their stuff just wouldn’t be practical in a sports car. Besides, I’d be paranoid that someone would scratch the paint with a door ding! LOL
