The Love Game by Emma Hart- Book Tour~Review~

His challenge? Make her fall in love with him.
Her challenge? Play the player.
Until life changes the rules of the game.

Maddie Stevens hated Braden Carter on sight. Arrogant, egotistical, and the playboy of the University of California, Berkeley, he's everything her brother Pearce has taught her to despise. So why, when the girls challenge her to play the player, doesn't she say no? She doesn't know either.

Braden wanted fiery little Maddie the second he laid eyes on her - and he'd do anything to have her, hence why he's agreed to make her fall in love with him. After all, it's the only way he'll get what he wants. Sex.
But, as Braden discovers, there's more to the girl from Brooklyn than he ever imagined - and he can't help but care about the broken girl behind those pretty green eyes.

Maddie finds Braden isn't just a walking erection - he actually has feelings. He can be sweet, funny and his good looks don't exactly hurt. That means trouble - but when her brother Pearce turns up in Berkeley begging for her help, she realises Braden and Pearce aren't so alike anymore.

And maybe, just maybe, they're exactly what each other needs.

My Review

Braden = One smoking hot hunky caveman!  The End.

Well I suppose I need to write more than that huh?  Okay, okay..so The Love Game.  Emma Hart's second attempt at New Adult Romance is a home run   YAY!  I was very lucky to watch The Love Game come to life in chats I was having with Emma as she was writing it.  I knew and loved Braden from day one and could not wait to get my hands on my BETA copy so I could devour him.

This is a super fun story about two people who get caught up in "the game" of love unwittingly.
The play the player tag is a fun tag.

While Maddie would seem like the "larger" main character here I would say that both she and Braden share the MC duties.  Braden is likeable, even with his cavemen attitude.  Maddie is a character that probably 90% of college girls these days could totally relate to.

Emma has a great way of writing characters whom are real.  Her dialogue is always fresh and fun and she is very good at writing secondary characters who flow with the story and add to it.

This is a fast paced NA read that will have you laughing into the night.

By day, Emma Hart dons a cape and calls herself Super Mum to a terrible two year old and cooking baby, due September 2013. By night, she drops the cape, pours a glass of wine – well, tropical juice now – and writes books. She likes to write about magic, kisses and whatever else she can fit into the story. Sarcastic, witty characters are a must. As are hot guys. She's working on the companion novel to her latest release and NA debut, Never Forget (Memories #1), and The Love Game (The Game, #1) will release on March 29th. She likes to be busy - unless busy involves doing the dishes. Ironically, that's where most of her ideas come from. Her debut YA series, The Mauve Legacy, is an Apple iBooks Bestseller - and this makes Emma excited.

Sweet Peril by Wendy Higgins ~Review~

So I come home one day to find this ARC
Sweet Peril (The Sweet Trilogy, #2)

in my mailbox.  Being an adult and all you think I would have just done a little

but nope, I was full on...

Oh yes indeed, I went into full fangirl flip out mode.  I even have to apologize
for a bit of bragging I did on Twitter because I was just so darn excited!!

Sweet Peril is amazing!  Like really really amazing friends.

Anna, now semi-working for her father, has grown up and matured.  Her ill fated year with Kaiden still haunts her but she is coping.  Soon she gets wind of a new mission that changes her focus and sets things in motion for covert angel missions.

We get to hang out with all of our favorite angels from Sweet Evil and meet some new ones as Anna is dispatched around the world to find some allies with none other than Kopano!

SP is filled with Dukes, demon whisperers and steamy tension!  We also get a good share of laughter, thanks in part to the return of Blake, Son of the Duke of Envy.

AND we get to more Kai!!!

"You want to talk about that night? The night you almost got yourself killed? What do you want me to say, Anna?  Would  you like to hear how it was the worst bloody night of my life?"

THAT is all I can say here!  Sweet Peril will be released April 30th and I suggest you run out and grab it asap.  No really- I mean it, RUN!!

"Oh? It's April 30th??  Excuse me!"

Sins & Needles by Karina Halle *Review & Kickin' Giveaway*

Sins and Needles Tour

OMG, OMG , OMG!  That was my initial reaction when Karina picked us to help host the Sins & Needles Tour because that meant I was getting an ARC and I would read it before all of you lovely people!  (yes, I did just rub it in)

See once I read the blurb for this book a while back I just KNEW I had to read it!  Check it out:

Ellie Watt is used to starting over. The daughter of a grifting team, Ellie spent her childhood being used as a pawn in her parents' latest scam. Now she’s much older, wiser and ready to give her con artist life a rest. But returning to the dry desert town of Palm Valley, California means one more temptation than she bargained for – Camden McQueen. Once known as the high school weirdo, Camden is bigger and badder than the boy he used to be and a talented tattoo artist with his own thriving business. Ellie’s counting on Camden still being in love with her but what she’s not counting on is how easily unrequited love can turn into obsession over time. When Camden discovers Ellie’s plan to con him, he makes her a deal she doesn’t dare refuse, but her freedom comes with a price and it’s one that takes both Ellie and Camden down a dangerous road.

The bomb right?  Well Hell yea it was the bomb and a whole lot of diggity!

Sometimes you can't adequately review a book because it just meets and exceeds all expectations and all you really want to do is dance:

Lordy, I love it when a book makes me feel that way!

The characters are brilliant.  The storyline?  Brilliant.
The switching from 'then' to 'now'?  Brilliant!

Those of you who have read my reviews know that I am strictly a NO spoiler girl and I hate to give  any hints to plotlines because I LOVE to be surprised.
So, in lieu of a rehash of the book  here are a few things I can tell you that I loved:

1) Ellie Watt- If her con artist ways make you feel less sympathetic to her woes in the beginning you quickly change your tune when you start to get her back story.

2) Camden McQueen- He is hubba hubba delicious and seems to good to be true.  However, my favorite thing about him are his 'dumbo like ears'.  As Ellie says "This stranger had flaws.  I couldn't stand perfect people."

3)  The music- Karina has created a playlist throughout Sins & Needles that has me making lists and searching for songs.  As a completely 'live by music kind of girl' I love this aspect of her writing.

4) The twists and turns - this book is exciting!  Better yet the action and thriller elements are more exciting than the sex (NOT that that isn't good too) but I don't feel like this is a sexy book with some thrills.  Instead, this is a thrilling book with some very nice sex!

5) The realistic elements to the con - I seriously have to question Karina on her knowledge of cons and being on the lamb.  She seems to have this down to a tee ;)

So you saw my dancing picture up top and that is how I felt when I got the book and about 90% of the book with some other emotions jumping in at times.  However, let me show you what the last 10% feels like:

image
Here I am with my book  (if I were a boy) and had the
actual book instead of e-book ;)

image
Next I took to the bottle!
And then when you come to the end and your little finger can't turn the page anymore you will be sending Karina messages like this asking for Shooting Scars #2 (it's not due out until summer):

I want it NOWWWW!

The reality is Karina is brilliant and this book is freaking AHmazBALLS!  You must pick it up ASAP.  I'm not only saying this because of how great it is but also because I could really use some company in this lonely 'I need book #2 bed'.
The othe reality is you only have to wait until April to get the prequel "On Every Street"!!

No Surprise here!

**The Artists Trilogy is a dark and sexy contemporary ride about three flawed individuals caught in a world where it's so easy to justify the bad things we do. This is a pure adult read (Not YA or NA).**

Now even more awesomness!! Check out this fabulous giveaway Karina is offering!!

Unmaking Hunter Kennedy *Review*

My "just my opinion" Review of:

When you read as many YA Contemporary Romance novels as many of us book bloggers do you tend to occasionally grow what I call the “Grinch’s heart”.

After a while sweet love stories filled with the hot bad boy and the goody two shoes girl or the teens with the angsty pasts, or perhaps it’s the overprotected sheltered girl who learns to open up finally, can become just another story.

Don’t get me wrong I love them all, I do!  I love contemporary romance novels and I really love the YA/NA genre.  But, I have to admit that sometimes they are just another story I’m reading and I don’t feel the impact because I read so many.

That is not the case with Unmaking Hunter Kennedy!  This story was so dang sweet that my little Grinch’s heart couldn’t help but grow THREE sizes bigger as I read this book.

The premise:

Teenage rock God, Hunter Kennedy, suffers somewhat of a meltdown (think Britney Spears and the infamous head shaving) and is sent packing to small town Colorado to come to grips with his mistakes.

There he meets terminally boy shy Vere Roth and her family who help him “unmake” himself from every teenage girls dream to every teenage kids nightmare.

The end result:

Oh my goodness this is the most clueless and “adorkable” couple of kids I think I may have ever read about.

Vere, with her amazingly awful clothing and horrible social skills is the exact opposite of somewhat stuck up and very stand-offish rock star Hunter.  They are such a great pair as they remake Hunter into a major teenage dork. Hunter teaches Vere how to open up and start relaxing around boys and Vere teaches Hunter that perhaps not everyone around him is out for what he can give them, maybe?!

This is seriously one cute book.  The awkwardness of these characters makes you cringe.  They are so real and true to life.  The dialogue is witty and fun.  The premise is a change from many YA romances.

I recommend this story to lovers of YA romances and gave it 5 feathers!  This is a clean romance story made for teens but enjoyable for all.

As a youth mentor I LOVE to find books I can recommend to my teens and this is certainly one you can suggest to the teens in your life. There are even parents (gasp!) involved in the story. Good loving ones at that! :)

I actually love that I had a conversation with the author about how younger teens need love too! This is such a great book about the discovery of love and yourself in the tumultuous teen years!  It would make a totally fun series on the CW too...maybe someone should make a call?!?

Swoonworthiness?  Yes!  Hunter is sweet rockstar once he gets over his initial issues.  He is fun and cute and by the end of the book he is so loveable the I didn’t want it to end.

I hope you take a chance on this book and let me know what you think!!

Awaken / Chosen By Kristen Day **Double Feature**

Before we get to the cover reveal you guys may recall my very first Supa Gurl books review was on a little gem, and debut novel, named 'Forsaken' by Kristen Day (Forsaken Review)  I gushed and ranted about how wonderful this was and told you all to get it and I hope you did.

Why, you ask?

Well because not only did she release Book 2, Awaken, in the series back in October but she is about to release #3, Chosen, at the end of the month!!

I am a baaaaddddd, bad blogger because I had every intention of sharing Awaken with you before now!  Better late than never though right???

So here you go...

The details:

The sacrifices we make have the power to shift the very fabric of who we are, and ultimately who we are meant to be…

After learning of her true destiny as the intended Leader of the Tydes, Anastasia Whitman must now embark on a perilous quest to the Underworld before the age of eighteen in order to plant the seed of immortality and complete her essence to become a true Sea Goddess. But before she can make her legendary journey, an unexpected new student transfers to Lorelei; initiating a sequence of events that will unravel Stasia’s new life, and test the boundaries of her relationship with the mysterious, dark, and sexy Finn Morrison. The line between the Underworld and the Living begins to blur as gruesome ghosts, morbid reveries, and pure evil haunt her waking hours as well as her sanity. Once the details of Finn’s own startling destiny are revealed, the dangerous secrets he’s been hiding will threaten the very love Stasia believed to be indestructible. As time begins to run out, she will be forced to choose between the one she loves and the destiny she cannot escape.

My gushy mushy very short review:

Words can NOT even describe this book.  I love it!!  Kristen takes all the things you love about Forsaken and then adds even more.  This book get's darker (really darker!) in a way I wasn't expecting but soooo loved.

Finn is still totally sexy and mysterious and his relationship with Stasia is still fabulous.  This one is a nail biter that takes you to the underworld and leaves you breathless with an ending that will make you glad that Chosen is just a few weeks away!!

Here is my proof of how great Forsaken and Awaken are:

I did a Read 2 Review with both of these books on my Goodreads group page for Kristen.   Here is what they rated the books:

Forsaken - 23 readers and the rating average was 4.6!  Two 3's and the rest all 4 or 5*
Awaken- 23 readers and the rating average was 4.69!  Two 4's and the rest were 5*

Seriously if you love young adult paranormal books with a little magic, mythology and fantasy you MUST try this series out!

NOW COVER REVEAL TIME

and an excerpt!!!

Finn

“Rise and shine, Love!”  Nadia appeared before me and my blood instantly began to boil with overwhelming hatred.  “We have much to do!”
“I’m not playing your bullshit games, Nadia,” I growled.
“Games?” She snorted, cracking a dry smile and coming to a stop in front of me.  Her features hardened and her golden eyes flashed, “This is no game, Love.  But believe me - I’ll be enjoying every minute.”  She noticed the small puddle of blood collecting below my right knee and smirked.
“Why Finn, I don’t believe I’ve ever seen you look so dreadful.  It’s a shame your essence and abilities have no effect down here.  That looks horrific.”
“You’re playing with fire, Nadia,” I accused her in a low voice.  She should know the consequences of her actions.
“I happen to like fire.  It’s powerful and tantalizing.  Just like me.”  She turned on her heel, kicked off her shoes and made her way to the trunk.  She visibly shivered in her thin tank top and jeans.  With a snap of her fingers, the room warmed to a comfortable temperature.
“I don’t know how you stand it down here!  It’s absolutely frigid!”  She chuckled to herself when I cursed her through gritted teeth.  She whistled happily as she opened the trunk and began rifling through it; searching for something in particular.
“Now where did I put it…Aha! Found it!” she squealed with delight.  Then she snapped her head around and grinned at me like she was two personalities away from a straight jacket and a padded room. “Enjoying the view?”
                “Don’t flatter yourself.”
“Oh come on Finn,” she purred. “You know you want this.” She spun around in a circle and raised a golden, sly eyebrow at me. “But unfortunately for you, I don’t screw pieces of shit.”
                “I’m crushed.”
She looked me up and down, tapped her chin, and smiled, “Not yet.” With a flick of her finger the white vines pinned me against the wall; slicing new wounds on my arms and legs. “I’ll save that for later.  Right now, we have other things to take care of.  And I must say, I’m so glad you came to your senses and chose me.  I was beginning to lose hope,” she joked.  She twitched over to where I was shackled to the wall and let out what sounded like something close to a cackle.
“Yea, I’ve really been looking forward to having my soul wrenched out of my body and starving to death in this god forsaken hole in the ground,” I spit at her with venom.
“I might not be as transparent as that little tramp of yours, Stasia, but-“
“Leave her out of this! You don’t even deserve to speak her name,” I growled.  The familiar rush of power and adrenaline that usually accompanied my anger didn’t come, and I began to realize the gravity of the situation I was in.  Not that I was going to let Princess Psycho know that.
“Oh, please…she’s nothing but an Achilles heel.” She collapsed into a fit of giggles, “Get it - cause her brother was Achilles..?” I ignored her failed attempt at irony.
“She possesses every quality required of a leader in our world and more.  Qualities you have never, and will never, possess - purity, strength, grace and most importantly, humility.”
“Humility, weakness - same thing.” She dismissed my words with a flip of her hand.
“The prophecy speaks for itself.  Even you can’t argue with that,” I retorted. “She is my destiny.  And I, hers.”
“All I hear is blah, blah, blah-I want to have sex with her-blah, blah, blah.  Lust turns the strongest of men into invalids and I simply couldn’t let that happen.  Your essence is far too important for what is ahead of me.”
“Essence becomes useless without love.  Love turns the strongest of men into warriors.  When a man has someone to fight for, he’s capable of moving mountains.”
Her grin dropped and she stomped over to me with vapor rolling off of her skin.  She stood in front of me, silent for a moment, then grinned wickedly and unrolled the leather case she had been clutching in her hand.  She slid something silver out and held it up so I could see it.  A syringe.
“I think I’m in the mood to play nurse.” Her eyes sparkled as she moved towards me.  I tried to fight the vines, but the excruciating pain that shot through me sucked what little energy I did have completely dry. “Now don’t tire yourself out, Love.  I need to get a good strong sample.”
At her words, another pair of vines shot out from the stone wall and slithered around my left arm; securing it tightly.  My trace had become dull in the last few days under whatever vacuum she had placed on my prison.
She slowly ran a finger down my cheek and smiled sympathetically. “Your sacrifices will not be in vain.  I can promise you that.” She dropped her hand and her golden eyes hardened, “But the slow, painful deterioration of your soul will be.  I’ve decided you owe me that.  It’s the least you can do.”
“So, are you looking forward to spending eternity on Tartarus, or will an exception be made to send you straight to the pits of fire?” I asked in the same tone I’d use to ask about the weather.
“You really think my own mother would sentence me to an eternity of hell?” she chuckled.    “Please tell me you aren’t that simpleminded.”
“You know as well as I do that a certain level of evil is not tolerated.  Your mother’s decision will be overridden by the-“
“Shut up!” she yelled and slapped me across the face.  It stung, but I hid it beneath a purposefully smug smile -- which only made her anger boil over. “Enough of this!  You are no more than a means to an end.  You will never be Prime.  You will never see your tramp or your family again.  You are nothing.” With that, she uncapped the syringe and drove it into my forearm; right through the eye of the skull.  My thoughts turned to Stasia as my world filled with pain and faded into darkness.

Oh Nadia!!  I can NOT wait to see her get what's coming to her!  Kristen knows that I will be knocking on her door the second she pushed the publish button so I can read this one.  I NEED it NOW!

Chosen is due out January 29th to catch up on Forsaken and Awaken if you haven't already
and add Chosen to your TBR Shelf !

Also, for you UtopYA peeps...Kristen will be there with a booth so be sure to read these book before you get to meet her in person!!  I for one can not wait to get me some signed paperbacks!  These are worthy of adding to my bookshelves for sure!

About the Author

I am a southern belle at heart with a crazy streak that desperately tries to escape at every opportunity. I love all things nostalgic, rustic, and quirky. I've been told I see the world through rose-colored glasses, but I prefer to think of them as kaleidoscope glasses - swirling and morphing reality into something I can digest (who hasn't pretended those pasty lima beans were really kiwi strawberry jelly beans?).

I am the author of the DAUGHTERS OF THE SEA trilogy, which includes FORSAKEN, AWAKEN, and CHOSEN (Winter 2012). I love all books, but really enjoy writing young adult, paranormal romances. I've loved to write for as long as I can remember. My first published work was my poem RED in second grade (you guessed it - it was a poem about the color red - life altering, I know) that won me 5 gold stars and a spot in my elementary school's poetry book. That's when my addiction to the written word officially began. I was the only kid in fifth grade that actually enjoyed diagramming sentences. Go ahead and laugh - its okay.

When I'm not writing I'm making jewelry, painting, drinking sweet tea, watching the discovery channel, or going on random adventures in the mountains of North Carolina with my amazing husband. I graduated from Appalachian State University and dream of becoming a full time novelist.

The Coincidence of Callie and Kayden **Review**

My Very Short Review of
The Coincidence of Callie and Kayden

Jessica Sorensen has really found her bread and butter!

After reading, and loving, The Secret of Ella and Micha I was excited to wade into The Coincidence of Callie and Kayden.

This book is an emotional roller coaster!  The characters are so real and flawed and hurting that you just want to crawl into the pages and hold them.

The story revolves around Callie, who we learn had something so terrible happen to her at twelve that she retracts into a protective shell and Kayden, who has been dealing with a verbally and physically abusive father his entire life.

These are two very different people the reclusive Callie and the Quarterback Kayden who although "knowing" each other their entire lives are virtually strangers when circumstances put them together at a graduation party.  This meeting changes them forever.

Fast forward to Fall and the start of college.  Callie and Kayden end up at the same school and haunted by what Callie did that night at the party Kayden seeks out a friendship with her only to find something so much more.

Among the drama and pain we have Luke and Seth who are sidekicks to Kayden and Callie and bring out their 'flirting with fun' side.  The groups exploits made me laugh throughout the book.  However, what really marks this as a well told story is that even in these light fun moments you realize that Callie and Kayden are both struggling to find the sense of 'normal' that most college students would have in partaking in things such as dancing in clubs, going to parties or hanging with friends.

This is an amazing story about how damaged a person can become from the tragedies in our lives and how these two characters fight to overcome their pasts while still keeping their horrible secrets.

I would rate this mature YA/ New Adult for excessive use of the F-bomb, other language, and sexual content (although not overly explicit)

Warning:  The last few chapters and especially the ending may have you rocking in a corner crying!    I was trying to turn the "pages" of my Kindle as if it were broken and it would magically turn into the rest of the story!

Don't say I didn't warn you!

Swoon-o-meter:  As always I must tell you how swoon worthy the book boys are!  Kayden as tortured as he is is a hard one to rate.  He is certainly sweet and handsome and makes a great MC but I don't think he would land on my book boyfriend list.  Not because I don't like him but because he is just so messed up!  If you are the type to want to take in stranded and lost dogs and keep them then Kayden would be the guy for you.

Luke and Seth are funny and fun loving kind of guys.  Luke definitely seems like the player and Seth would be the BFF.  So unfortunately I don't forsee much of a book boyfriend opportunity here but I TOTALLY see a love affair happening with me and the book!

Go read it and see for yourself!

Have you read it yet?  Lemme know what you think!!

Vincent Boys by Abbi Glines *Review*

So I admit it, sometimes I arrive late for the show...yep, I know this about myself and if there is one thing I have learned in 2012 it is this:  there are a TON of seriously awesome books out there waiting to be discovered by me still!

How I got so behind on all of the awesomeness is beyond me and I am doing my best to rectify the situation, however there is only so much time for reading in a day :(  Yes I know it is a sad, sad truth we live with!

That being said I can add happily now check off one book that I should have read ages ago...

Mmmmm, yes please and thank you!

Here is my FIVE Feather review:

WARNING:  Reading this book my cause watery eyes, uncontrollable sighing, warmth in your belly and lack of sleep!  The best way to control these symptoms is to just read it all in one sitting and then move on to The Vincent Brothers so you can read more!

That is my plan and I'm sticking with it!  I picked up Vincent Boys at 1AM last night because I was in the mood for a little contemp romance and figured I would read for thirty minutes and fall asleep *enter evil Abbi Glines laugh here* yep, Abbi laughs every time a reader picks up this book because she knows their little plan of "Oh, I'll just read a few chapters" will be blown to smithereens once they begin.  Well played Abbi, well played.

I was so thoroughly in love with Ashton and Beau that I could not put the book down and read until 5:30AM.  I quickly placed my Kindle on the nightstand and forced myself to sleep before my hubbies alarm went off so he wouldn't be clued into my obsession (FYI- I then tweeted about it and he busted me, ooops!).
This is SOOO me.
My poor hubby, thankfully he loves me ;)

Watching Ashton and Beau rekindle their friendship was a pleasure and the ensuing love triangle that played out is so very believable.  You can be in love with more than one person and this is exactly how it happens.  Abbi does such a great job of writing Ashton's emotions that you don't hate her for her indecision about the Vincent Boys, in fact I kinda envied her!  There was a point where I dislike Sawyer but he was redeemed in my eyes and I look forward reading his story next.

As for the SWOON-o-meter I give these boys a 5 out of 5.  I'm totally Team Beau in this book because he is as amazing as chocolate covered cherries which is pretty freaking amazing!  He is a hot rebel boy who is so in love with Ashton that she wouldn't know what to do with herself if she understood the depth of his affection.  Sawyer is the beautiful all-american good boy, intent on keeping his little woman safe, secure and happy.  He is looking at the long term picture and while it sounds a bit boring it is totally sweet.  He is certainly the one who mama and daddy want you to bring home.  Beau, he is the one you sneak out the window for- not that I'm advocating this action ;)

One thing for me that totally stood out in this book is it is centered in LA- that's Lower Alabama for you non Bama folks.  It's my old stomping ground, Gulf Shores, Mobile Bay..I have a high school love (and marriage) that played out at these locales so this endeared me to this book even more.  That and the fact that Abbi is a die-hard Bama fan ;) Roll Tide!

I digress, I could go into so many things about this book that make it a must read but I don't want to give anything away so I will say you just need to go read it, like asap!

Just remember I gave you fair warning of the side effects- don't come crying to me when you're done!  However, do come tell me what you think of it!!

I would rate this as Mature YA due to language and steamy (but not explicit) sexual content (this is the original version not the uncut)

So there you have it.  One of many, many reviews to come on awesome books that I should have read by now but just haven't.  It's a tough job but someone has to do it!

I want to hear what you think...are there any books out there that you know you need to read and you just haven't gotten to it?  Talk to me SUPApeeps!

Until next time, keep on reading!

Secret of Ella & Micha ~ Blog Tour Review

First Impression:  This cover is gorgeous!  I must read it ASAP
Genre:  New Adult Contep Romance
Published:  October 4, 2012
Things to LOVE:  Lots of steamy tension, bad boy with a heart of gold and well told story
Things to dislike:  Overabundance of F-bombs

Review:
The Secret of Ella & Micha begins with a Prologue that totally blows you and your heart away.  We find Ella Daniels, as high as a kite, contemplating whether she can fly as she is standing on the ledge of a bridge.  Ella’s best friend and soul mate, as she describes him, comes to her rescue and you recognize that you are meeting two people who are completely connected to each other.  As Micha begins to confess his love Ella silences him with a kiss and then walks away disappearing from his life, and hers, for the next eight months.

Micha has been trying to track Ella down for eight months and is finally surprised to see her pull up into her driveway one day with her college roommate, Lila, on her summer break from school.  Taking back up where he left off Micha is on a quest to reconnect with Ella as not only her best friend but he is also trying to prove to her that they are meant to be more.  Ella comes home basically because she has to and finds herself fighting a losing battle to maintain the facade she had built up about her perfect new life.  Her roommate Lila doesn’t even know about Micha, Ella's drunk father or her dead mother.

The Secret of Ella & Micha is such a compelling story of overcoming painful pasts and maintaining beautiful friendships.

Character Descriptions::  Ella- The girl who used to be bad.  She loved having fun and pushing the limits but due to her mothers death, and what she feels is her part in it, she has become scared of herself and has been running from her old life.

Micha- He makes a lip ring seem so super sexy!  Even with his own sad upbringing he is the rock that tried to keep Ella steady.  He loves Ella fiercely and will do anything to prove it to her.  He’s a wanna be rock star and drag racing fool :)

Lila- College roommate of Ella’s who drives her home for the summer and stays on for a few days.  Lila is completely in the dark about Ella’s past.  She is a somewhat stuck up rich girl with a sweet heart.

Ethan- Micha’s wingman.  Ethan has tired of Micha’s preoccupation with trying to find Ella.  He seems to hold a secret from the past and is possibly becoming smitten with Lila.

Final Thoughts:  This is a must read New Adult Contemp Romance!  I was hooked from the first page wanting to see Ella and Micha hook up and wanting to get all the details behind “The Secret” of Ella and Micha.  My favorite part of the story was the friendship between Ella and Micha.  Micha was the kind of friend that you want when you’re growing up and going through all of the trials and tribulation of youth.

Jessica has written an amazing story and I am looking forward to continuing the story in ‘The Forever of Ella and Micha’
