The Prophecy by Desiree DeOrto *Amazing New Author*

The Prophecy *The Divinity Stone Series* by Desiree DeOrto
The people of Shiloh, Virginia thought it was just a story. A legend to keep children from misbehaving. A challenge to prove you have courage. What they didn't know was that it was real. All of it was real.

When Starlette McKinley moved from the sparkling lights of LA to the sleepy town of Shiloh, she didn't know that she would be the catalyst. She didn't know that the rage and energy pulsing through her would be the key to unleashing an insurmountable power that would either be the saving of mankind, or its destruction.

The blood will run, and the prophecy will be revealed. But will she be able to overcome the insurmountable odds? Or will she succumb to the energy within, welcoming the darkness that has become her only friend.

Release Day!! Promise Me This by Sarah Ashley Jones

Promise Me This by Sarah Ashley Jones
Cover Design by Okay Creations.
Genre: New Adult Contemporary Romance

Welcome to the South - where the tea is sweet and the accents are sweeter. This Southern way of life is all Charlie has ever known. It’s not until she loses the only person who pushed her to break free of the Southern Belle mold that she starts living the life she needs and not the life her parents forced on her.

Jhett has lived on the edge for as long as he could remember - constantly teetering back and forth between being a rock star and living a normal life. His rebellious and sometimes arrogant attitude is known to get him into trouble, especially with the girls who hang on his every move.

Charlie never thought that a trip to pack up her brother’s apartment would leave her feeling even more unsettled about the grainy details of her brother’s death. Her quest for information leads her straight to his old hangout and into arms of Jhett, who suspiciously knows more about her situation than he ever should.

Only a few questions remain - Can you trust someone based on their word alone? And if you make a promise, how far will you go to keep it?

About The Author

Sarah Ashley Jones was raised in San Diego, California, but currently wrangles her husband and four dogs in Clarksville, Tennessee. When she's not writing she works in a pottery studio and comes home covered in paint on a daily basis. She has a slightly unhealthy obsession with cupcakes and chapstick. She is an eternal optimist and can often be found dancing and singing to music at any given time. It's rare to see her not smiling or laughing, but if you do, just bring her a cupcake and it will cheer her up.

Promise Me This is her first novel and is a story that weaseled its way into her heart and wouldn't leave her alone until she typed it up on the computer. She already is hard at work on ideas for her next book and hopes that the
characters never stop coming to her. Her huge imagination was always in overdrive as a child and now she is beyond excited to put it to good use as an adult. She plans to write as long as she has stories that need to be told.

HERE'S A LITTLE TEASER JUST FOR YOU
“Is there something on my face?” I asked, mid-wipe.
“You’ve got a little…frosting…” He chuckled as he brought his hand up to my cheek and ran the gentle pad of his thumb over my now parted lips.  He inspected his work and frowned.  “I don’t think I got it all…” His voice was a low growl as he leaned in and kissed the corner of my lips; trailing feathery kisses at a teasingly slow place down to the center of my bottom lip, before sucking it all the way into his mouth.  He nibbled on it softly while he tangled his hand into my hair and deepened the kiss. I was leaning into him, craving more of his touch with each second that passed.
Jhett brought his other hand up to my cheek, cupped my face with both hands, and broke the kiss.  I let out an unexpected whimper as he drew my forehead in to his.  “Any more of that, and we won’t make it to the rest of your birthday presents,” he said between breaths.
I sat back and folded my hands into my lap.  “Well, if we get to do that again as one of them, I’m all about it,” I smirked at him.

Partials by Dan Wells

The Partials were engineered fighting machines that helped the US win a war. However, no one knew what would come of the Partials after the war was won. Mistreated and looked down upon, the Partials declared an all out war on the human race, practically wiping out the world's entire population. 11 years later, Partials have not been seen but the destruction that they caused is far from over. The remaining humans are unable to have any healthy babies and the population is quickly dwindling. Kira makes it her mission to find the cure for the virus in order to save her sister's unborn baby. Kira finds herself learning more about the Partials, the virus, and the secrets that her government may be keeping.

Good

  • The storyline was pretty unique. I love that the story is looking at the aftermath of the destruction. There was a lot of information about how the society was able to try to rebuild itself, as well as how families were broken apart.
  • The author was able to give me information about the creation of Partials, past wars, and how the new city was set up without rambling on for pages on end. It was informative and descriptive, yet  not drawn out.
  • The story also gave a pretty good depiction of what it would be like for children who grew up during this tumultuous time. Kira and her friends were extremely young when the destruction began so they did not remember what society used to be like. However, older members of the government do remember and you can see how their views and decisions reflect these differences.
Bad
  • I felt like some of the characters were flat. They played into very specific roles and rarely deviated from those roles. People are more complicated than that.
  • It seems very unlikely that a bunch of teenagers were more logical, mature, and compassionate than the adults. I often had to remind myself while reading that Kira is 16.
  • I feel like I know about Kira and her story, but I don't really know her. I know the book is written in third person but I still wish I could see more into her emotions and inner conflicts.
Overall, this book was pretty good! I give it 3.5 stars because I liked the storyline, but the flat characters made it hard to connect with the story. I love this storyline though so I will definitely be reading the next one!

David James' Shades of the Stars *Cover Reveal & Playlist

The Shades of the Stars
Cover Reveal Tour

Shades of the Stars: A Legend of the Dreamer anthology.  Shades of the Stars includes the novellas The Witch's Curse, The Warrior's Code, and an exclusive story called The Enchanter's Fire. Exclusive playlists. Essays on the world of the Order. Interviews. Deleted scenes from Light of the Moon. And an exclusive look at the sequel, Shadow of the Sun.

Release Date: July 2, 2013

As a part of this cover reveal tour David is sharing his playlist one song and blog at a time! Such a great idea huh? I was lucky enough to get TWO songs though...so here they are his songs and why he chose them.

“I Lie Awake” by Quietdrive-The Warrior’s Code

I thought of this song a lot when I was writing about Zack’s past. He has such a troubled, lonely past, that I wanted to imagine he was thinking about someone that gave him hope. And he will find hope, don’t worry.

“Let Her Go” by Passenger-The Enchanter’s Fire

I really love how this song hits on the fact that so often we miss things only when they’re done. In The Enchanter’s Fire, we see that a lot of what the story is about is letting things go. I love how both the song and the story fit so perfectly together.

David James writes books about stars and kisses and curses. He is the author of the YA novel, LIGHT OF THE MOON, the first book in the Legend of the Dreamer duet, as well as the companion novellas, THE WITCH'S CURSE and THE WARRIOR’S CODE. A Legend of the Dreamer anthology, SHADES OF THE STARS, will be released in July 2013, and will include the exclusive novella, THE ENCHANTER'S FIRE. The final book in the duet, SHADOW OF THE SUN, will be released in late 2013. Living in Michigan, he is addicted to coffee, gummy things, and sarcastic comments. He enjoys bad movies, goofy moments, and shivery nights. Be sure to visit David’s blog and facebook to learn more about his various addictions and novels.
