OUaT Blog Tour Stop : Eternal Starling by Angela Corbett Review & Giveaway

Hardcover320 pages
Expected publication: December 6th 2011 by Pendrell Publishing

Find Angela at these places :

A love so strong, even eternity can’t separate them.

Evie Starling has lived a relatively uneventful life hanging out with friends, gossiping about boys, and driving her 1966 Mustang. All of that changes when she moves to Gunnison, Colorado, to start college and meets two mysterious men.

For centuries, Alex Night and Emil Stone have yearned for Evie—but they each have their own reasons for wanting to be with her. When both men claim to be her soul mate and tell her about an unbelievable past, Evie learns that she’s not the person she thought she was. Soon, Evie finds herself in the middle of an age-old battle between the Amaranthine Society—the soul protectors, and the Daevos Resistance—the soul destroyers. With a past she doesn’t understand, and a future rife with danger, Evie has to decide who she can trust. But Alex and Emil aren’t the only ones who want Evie, and her soul is about to become the rope in an eternal tug-of-war.

Angela Corbett's Author Bio:
As a child, Angela Corbett’s most prized possession was a set of read-along books. She used to follow along with the narrator on the stereo and dream of when she would be able to read by herself. Her childhood reading habit led her to consider her future career. However, after consulting with her parents, she realized she had already exceeded hobbit height and since fairies and dragonslayers were tricky jobs to get, she decided she wanted to create worlds of her own. She started writing poetry in elementary school and worked as a journalist in high school and college, but could never leave her love for writing fiction behind.
She is a graduate of Westminster College where she double majored in communication and sociology. She has worked as a journalist, freelance writer, and director of communications and marketing. She loves classic cars, traveling, and escaping in a good book. She lives in Utah with her incredibly supportive husband and their five-pound Pomeranian, Pippin, whose following of fangirls could rival Justin Bieber's.

Review: 5x5

Very intriguing, original and romantic. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, I was thrown into chaos just as Evie' life was.  I felt the pull of the amazing writing and storyline and was drawn into an incredible world. What a fantastic beginning to an Eternal Love story.

Evie is a headstrong no-nonsense take charge kind of girl *yay* She can think for herself and also an outdoor girl... Yes I can totally put myself in her place. Alex and Emil well they are just amazing in each their own ways. I was blown away by the depth of these two and their love that has transcended so many times. I'm sure you will be just as confused as I am about who you want to get the girl.

  1. I believe that everyone who is looking will find their perfect match. I don't believe in Soul Mates because nothing in our lives is predestined.

  2. I think that the idea of Soul Mates is a beautiful concept. It encourages the hope that somewhere out there someone is waiting and meant to love each of us. If you go further it can also tie into the concept of reincarnation and love that transcends time.

I think a lot of people give the idea a negative spin because they focus on the idea that it takes away choice of who you love. Personally, I disagree. I feel that, instead, it suggests that you make a soul level effort to be with the same person over and over. That kind of loyalty and devotion is beautiful, especially in story and especially in troubling times like those we face today.

Thanks for the truly lovely giveaway. Good luck, everybody!

  4. I don't believe in soul mates BEFORE you choose to be with someone (I do believe you can be a better "fit" with certain people more than others) but I believe in a soul mate AFTER you make the commitment to be together -like, the BIG commitment. Like, marriage. Then your spouse is THE ONE.

  6. I believe some people find their "soul mates" in life. But, I also like to believe there's more than one person out there for us. If things didn't work out or if you lost your love, I'd hope in the future you could fall in love again :-)
